Jeremy Huppatz is a SQL Server data architect and BI consultant working for Hewlett Packard, and is a graduate of their Top Gun program, which he now helps out as a coach and virtual lab manager. He has worked with SQL Server for 13 years, and is regarded as a technical leader in SQL Server within HP at both a regional and global level. Working for companies as diverse as a merchant bank, a small development shop, a mid-sized direct marketing company and now a global IT company, Jeremy has had the opportunity to see what works (and what doesn’t) across a large cross-section of the IT industry. Jeremy was the inaugural convenor of ADSSUG, and as and a passionate advocate for user groups and building communities of practice, he also participates in other user groups in Adelaide (ADSPUG, ADNUG). In his spare time, Jeremy is also an audio geek, musician and aspiring novelist.

Agile Data Architecture
In this presentation, Jeremy will outline some ideas about how data architectures can be delivered in a fashion that meets the Agile vision. Agility is defined as responsiveness to business needs, while respecting the needs of all involved parties. In the case of data architecture, this means developers, DBAs, infrastructure staff, project managers, data analysts and business users. Many people consider the relational database as an obstacle to agility. Jeremy will prove that this is not the case by outlining a number of design, deployment and tooling patterns that support agility in MS SQL Server database solutions; with a specific focus on MS SQL Server development.
